COURSERA ASSIGNMENT 4

The fourth week lesson is about family members and parents job. This section is about family, how many people you have in your house. As usual i get some of new vocabularies at the first page. The vocabulary is explained in a great way, because there's an audio that I can hear to make my way on pronounce the words more similar or close to correct. Other than audio, the course write the new words in English and the meaning of them too.

This video talk about family and ages. The video explained both question and the answer. The questions are  How many people are in your family. Do you have sister or brother and how old she/he is. Chinese language sometimes hit a very different meaning in its literal meaning and after it combined to a sentence. For example in people in family thing. In English we might just say people or ‘orang’ in Indonesia, but in chinese they say “kou” which means mouth or ‘mulut’ in Indonesia. It says that chinese people use sentence “how many mouth in your family” that just like “how many people that you feed in your family”.

As the course ended there will be a practice, as usual I only can use the free one.

The second video is pronouciation practice compound initial in chinese, the video also tell me to repeat what it says as oral practice. The next are about discussion topic about how many people in my family, who are and how old are they and the optional material for write the text in conversation.

 

 

As every each week have 2 subject of materials while the first one is  related family member and ages. The second one is still related to it, but this is about parents job. This part also have some new words to memorize.

This video talk about occupations. The clip, I  will talk about their parents' occupations. Where does your father work? Where means “nar”, work means “gongzuo”. The video also provide a simulation of these  sentences is used in daily activity or real conversation.

 

As usual, there will be a quiz after the video.

After the quiz, there’s a cultural tips that says, the elder in chinese is so proud of their age and if you visited them, you can just ask how old they are. Because they think, the older you get more wiser you will be. The next are about discussion topic practice to write what is my job and my working place, optional material for write the text in conversation and then the chinese characthers.
