CALL ASSIGNMENT 3 (DUOLINGO)

In this doulingo course I choose Chinese language, well with this apps I am quite familiar because I already use this apps since I was a high school student. For it’s method duolingo is focused on learning reading, listening and remembering, but it is also have a speaking practice.

In the beginning the course give me Chinese words as my first vocabulary to remember and of course, the meaning of the words. The course contain English, Chinese hanze, and Chinese pinyin transcription so i can understand them easily.  

This course have a speaker and test that sometimes switch the language. For example, the quiz show English language then the answer will be a Chinese hanze or the quiz is Chinese hanze then the answer is English language, for the beginner like me, this method is really helpful to remember both the hanze and the meaning of it.

The quiz also contain of repeating the Chinese words through the voice tools in the quiz, so we will do it as we record our voices like we do a voice note in the WhatsApp apps. The quiz also taught me to arrange words by the words preferences that appears in the quiz. It is so interesting for me, because sometimes I’m just slightly hear it and lost my focus, with that I’ll have to focus again and voila! I can get the words.

Duolingo also have challenges for the members and even rank chart, so for someone who likes to compete, this is really great and with this systems the member might feel more enthusiastic. 

For what’s missing in this course, I actually don’t really know and think about it but I think if I can get a video about the lesson it will be much better for me to gain more knowledge.

   NAME : HERMILANIA CLASS : 3SA05 SUBJECT : COURSERA MEETING 4 COURSERA ASSIGNMENT 4 The fourth week lesson is about family members and parents job. This section is about family, how many people you have in your house. As usual i get some of new vocabularies at the first page. The vocabulary is explained in a great way, because there's an audio that I can hear to make my way on pronounce the words more similar or close to correct. Other than audio, the course write the new words in English and the meaning of them too. . This video talk about family and ages. The video explained both question and the answer.
